CANactions School: Open Call for 'Creating Homes for Tomorrow' until 2 February

CANactions School travels to 4 metropoles in western, northern and central Europe and explores their innovative approaches for creating more livable neighbourhoods. Based on the findings it develops the new strategies for locally specific and globally relevant questions, considering spatial, economic, social and political measures.

The programme is exposed to the housing context of the three European cities that are widely acclaimed for their high living quality: Amsterdam, Zurich and Helsinki. The programme absorbs their practices to specifically address the housing challenges of the rapidly expanding Eastern European metropolis of Kyiv.

The programme is organised in a modular format. The final workshop in Kyiv is compulsory for all participants. 

In each workshop, there are up to 30 participants who are graduates and Master students from the fields of Architecture, Urban Design and Planning, Sociology, Political and Cultural Studies, Arts and Media and other related fields.

Programme deadlines:
  • 2 February: Application deadline
  • 10–12 February: Applicants are shortlisted for online interviews
  • 14 February: Announcement of the selected participants

The Helsinki workshop is on 21–28 March and Kyiv 9–16 May. The workshops are arranged in English. Participation fee is 1,200 euros in total. 

In Helsinki, the partners of the programme are Aalto University, Helsinkizurich and City of Helsinki.
