An exhibition about the work of Nordic architecture collective South of North in Guadalaraja, Mexico on September 29 - October 15 2015South of North is a collective of twelve young Nordic architecture practices working in the non-profit sector in developing regions.The South of North traveling exhibition was presented for the first time in Helsinki as part of the Helsinki Design Week, 5 –14 September 2014. In Helsinki the exhibition pavilion was constructed entirely of recycled materials, reflecting the design principles of the South of North network.  In June  2015 the SoN exhibition was presented as a part of the annual meeting of Architects Without Borders International (ASF) in Kathmandu, Nepal.The South of North exhibition pavilion in Guadalaraja is designed and built together with Mexican architecture students Guillerme Pineda, Octavio Torres, Alejandro Diaz and their team. The pavilion is constructed using local ecological materials; wood, reed and straw and it will continue its life as a community house after the exhibition.Elina Tenho and Noora Aaltonen (Komitu Architects) will represent South of North in Guadalaraja. They will organize a workshop about sustainable building practices and a lecture at Tecnologico  de Monterrey.The South of North exhibition in Guadalaraja is organized together with Take the winter coat off - an exhibition of thirteen young designers from Aalto University whose unique pieces were inspired by Mexican culture.  The exhibition is organized by Sara Pereyra.See more info about South of North
