A total of thirteen Finnish architecture firms applied for the Tottakai! initiative organised by ATL (association of architects' offices) together with Archinfo Finland and funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Finland.

The Tottakai! export initiative is a new opening in export work focusing on offering Finnish architecture firms a possibility to introduce themselves to the Japanese market. The six selected firms will participate in a seminar and company meetings in Tokyo in February–March 2020. In the seminar, the firms will present their key works and their modus operandi. During a three-day trip, they will meet potential clients and Japanese architecture firms to discuss possibilities for collaboration.

Prior to the trip, in January 2020, a coaching session is given on the Japanese market and export work.

In March–April 2020, representatives of Japanese architecture firms will reciprocally come to Finland to visit the Finnish firms and their projects and present their works in a seminar.

The Tottakai! initiative is executed by ATL in collaboration with Archinfo Finland and is funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Finland. The coaching session is held in partnership with Business Finland. The participating firms will cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.
