IFI Forum, Ethics in Interior Architecture

The International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) is organising a seminar on the Otaniemi campus on ethics and accepted (and unacceptable) practices in international architecture, design, and interior architecture.
The topic will be explored through three presentations and a lively panel discussion, touching on themes such as safety, ecology, the role of design in a changing world, and whether ornamentation and imitation styles constitute criminal activity.
The event will also feature the Finnish Interior Architects Association (SIO), which will announce the winner of the 2026 Interior Architecture Award.
Refreshments will be served during the intermission.
The event will be held in the former main building of the Helsinki University of Technology, designed by Alvar Aalto, now the Aalto University Undergraduate Centre (immediately to the left of the entrance hall and coat rack). A more detailed programme can be found at this link.
The event is organised in collaboration with Secto and Adora Interiors.
Please register by 23 January: office@sio.fi
