Meet Pirkanmaa design, art and craft association Modus ry at the European Quilt Triennale

Modus ry
Welcome to discover the work of the 25-year-old Pirkanmaa design, art and craft association Modus ry at Vooninki in Finlayson Area.
In celebration of Modus's 25th anniversary, we present the association’s activities and members in connection with the international European Quilt Triennale exhibition. The theme day will be held on Finnish Design Day, 3 February, which also marks the birthday of Alvar Aalto.
For the event, we will create Modus’s own quilt piece, showcasing the wide range of materials used by our members and the diversity of their expertise.
The event is organised in collaboration with Tampere Architecture and Design Association TAD ry.
At the same time, there is an opportunity to visit the European Quilt Triennale exhibition, where admission is free. More info about European Quilt Triennale exhibition via this link.
Founded in Tampere in 2001, Modus is an association of designers, visual arts and crafts professionals, teachers, researchers and producers. Our area of operation is the entire Pirkanmaa region.
Accessibility
The Finlayson area is a historic, protected factory area and can be somewhat challenging for people with reduced mobility in places. Most of the outdoor areas are paved, with a small natural stone-paved street located after the Satakunnankatu gate at the southern end of Itäinenkatu, between Siperia and Plevna.
The outer entrance door to the event venue is mechanical (no motorised opening) and there is a small threshold in front of the entrance.
Parking spaces for short-term disabled parking are located on Itäinen Street in front of Mehiläinen, on Väinö Linnan aukio in front of Werstas, and on Finlaysoninkuja.
