The first large-scale solo exhibition by knitting artist Juha Vehmaanperä opens at the Gallery of the Architecture & Design Museum on 20 February 2026.
Juha Vehmaanperä is a knitting artist whose work focuses on slow fashion, queer theory and craft-based knowledge. Their projects combine traditional handcraft techniques with contemporary approaches and technologies. Vehmaanperä’s practice is characterised by community-oriented working methods, the promotion of DIY culture and the renewal of craft traditions.
Presented at the Architecture & Design Museum, Craft Punk is Vehmaanperä’s first major solo exhibition. It brings together key works from recent years, material experiments, insights into the artist’s working process and participatory, community-based artworks.
