Open House Helsinki 2023

an office room with the sun shining in through the window

Anton Sucksdorff

The architecture event Open House Helsinki will be organized this year under the theme Re-Use. The public will be able to take a peek, for instance, at the L3 warehouse designed by Lars Sonck, Yrjö Kukkapuro's studio and Meilahti Bridge Hospital. With the help of the mobile guide, you can get to know dozens of lost cinemas in Helsinki.

Open House Helsinki opens the doors to the buildings that are normally unavailable to the public. Once a year, the event organizes guided tours of buildings, neighborhoods, courtyards, as well as new and old architectural sites. The event offers also exhibitions, lectures and workshops for the whole family.

This year, in addition to the presentation of the buildings, the program includes walking tours of the city, including the facades of the Kamppi and Punavuori areas, an architectural tour of the Helsinki blocks of the 1970s, and an urban adventure based on the Kino-Suomi book to the lost cinemas of Helsinki.

The full program can be found on the event's website here.
