Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy

The festival celebrates the art of film and showcases bold, visually striking new movies. Each year, the festival programme includes films related to architecture and construction. This year, there are five such films that will be screened in cinemas across Helsinki:

The History of Concrete explores concrete and its meanings with a comedic touch. The film is the debut documentary by John Wilson, who created the series How to with John Wilson.

Nagi Notes invites the viewer to the mountainous small town of Nagi, where an artist sculpts a statue of his sister-in-law in an eventful drama.

I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning follows a group of friends whose bonds begin to fray on the threshold of their thirties under the pressures of British class society.

Glorious Summer is a dystopian film about three women trapped in a Renaissance palace whose mysterious power grants their wishes.

Redoubt takes the viewer back to the Cold War era, where a farmer frightened by the nuclear threat begins building a fallout shelter with his own hands.
