Rethinking 20c Nordic Heritage -seminar

In September, Denmark will host an open seminar exploring 20th century Nordic architectural heritage from new perspectives.
The expert seminar will present the Twentieth Century Historic Thematic Framework (20cHTF) tool and its application to practical heritage work. The programme will include discussions on the criteria by which cultural heritage is selected and preserved in the Nordic countries.
The programme focuses on Nordic perspectives and brings together professionals and partner organisations working in the conservation, management, and repair of built heritage from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Åland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, and Denmark. Main speaker of the seminar will be Susan Macdonald from the Getty Conservation Institute.
The event is part of a Nordic project launched by Danish ICOMOS in 2025, aiming to use the 20cHTF tool to open up new perspectives on the Nordic built environment. The Finnish 20cHTF working group is also participating in the project.
More information about the Rethinking 20c Nordic Heritage project is available through this link, where you can also find the programme and registration details.
