Kati Hienonen

At the Tahiti Gallery of Säynätsalo Town Hall, an exhibition by designer Kati Hienonen is explores the possibilities of design as part of a more sustainable future.

The exhibition focuses on a home textile collection designed from Finnish sheep’s wool. Based on circular economy principles, the exhibition considers the entire life cycle of the material already at the design stage: from raw material to use and back into circulation.

In addition to the textile collection, the exhibition opens up discussion on how material choices, production solutions and everyday aesthetics can support the transition towards a lower-carbon and more responsible way of life. At the same time, the exhibition highlights safe materials and manufacturing processes that avoid harmful environmental chemicals.
