WeeGeeZine – Anyone Can Publish!

KAMU's zine afternoon looks into the connections between architecture, design and independent publications.
Architect and PhD Mika Savela will introduce the day's theme with an informal talk at 4:00 pm in Finnish and English. During the workshop, participants will work with archival images of the WeeGee building from KAMU's collections and explore how architecture zines and independent publishing can inspire new interpretations of the building, its architectural details, its history, and the memories and stories connected to it.
Zines and independent small-scale publications have historically played an important role in art, culture and community life, providing a platform for topics that often remain hidden behind institutional walls.
