NEB Facility 2025 calls are now open

Running from 2025 to 2027, the NEB Facility is the first-ever multiannual funding tool for innovative projects to make Europe’s living spaces more sustainable, inclusive, and beautiful for everyone.
The NEB Facility is a multi-annual (2025-2027) and cross-cutting tool to revitalise European neighbourhoods with design for sustainability and inclusion. It will support projects on the sustainable transformation of the built environment. The NEB Facility aims to make the inhabitants of the built environment partners of change.
With NEB Facility, the initiative finally has its own self-standing funding instrument that will help turn its vision into action — supporting concrete, forward-looking solutions for the transformation of neighbourhoods across Europe. It’s not only about advancing sustainability, but also about creating places that are inclusive, enriching, and beautiful for all.
NEB facility call will support projects:
- connecting the green transformation, social inclusion, and local democracy;
- exploring circular and regenerative approaches for the built environment;
- and identifying innovative funding and new business models for the transformation of European neighbourhoods.
Activities under the NEB Facility should contribute to the wider social acceptance of the innovative solutions developed, accelerating the just green and digital transformation and strengthening and restoring citizens’ trust in democracy. They should also explore the built environment’s function in the conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems, its relation to historical urban, peri-urban or rural areas, the improvement of social cohesion as well as people’s health and well-being.
NEB Facility Funding

The NEB Facility funding is composed of a research and innovation (R&I) component and a roll-out component. The first Horizon Europe call for proposals under the Research and Innovation (R&I) component of the NEB Facility is now open for applications!
In addition to this, the roll-out component of the NEB Facility, which is dedicated to the development and deployment of innovative solutions at the neighbourhood level, is also receiving its first support already. Two calls for proposals under the LIFE programme (with an earmarked funding of up to €8 million for New European Bauhaus projects) are now open.
All calls for proposals are available here.
The deadline for applications for the Horizon Europe NEB Facility calls is 12 November 2025.
The deadline for applications for the LIFE calls is 23 September 2025 .

NEB Facility Roadmap and NEB toolkit support in the application process
In March 2025, the European Commission published the NEB Facility Roadmap, outlining the implementation of the NEB Facility from 2025 to 2027. Developed in collaboration with Member States, Countries Associated to Horizon Europe and other stakeholders, the roadmap details governance structures, budget requirements, potential synergies with other EU programmes, and key measures to be undertaken.
In addition to the Roadmap, project owners, investors, members of NEB community, governing bodies or other public institutions can use a variety of available New European Bauhaus tools and resources in their activities.
