In 2026, the annual Alvar Aalto Week will take place in Oulu, the European Capital of Culture. The week will be celebrated from 21 to 30 August under the theme Handprints.
The aim of the week is to make Aalto's projects in Oulu familiar. Iconic sites include Aalto Silo, the only remaining building of the Toppila cellulose factory. During the week, it is possible to explore, through a diverse programme, what kind of traces, structures and stories our environment contains. Explore the programme here.
The week will be organised as part of the Alvar Aalto Cities Network, where Oulu is the network's chair city this year.
