Rooted in the Estonian context, the biennale is built around the question “How much?”, examining the relationships between constraints, costs and spatial production.

TAB 26 examines the idea of the paradoxical position of cheapness. While cheapness is not a feature that architecture strives for, it is often the central goal of construction. The biennale also considers the social, ecological and long-term consequences of cost-driven approaches, questioning whether cheapness is ultimately an illusion. The aim of the theme is to unlock new ways of understanding the meaning of value, affordability and responsibility in architecture.

The festival offers diverse exhibitions, lectures, events and workshops from 9 September to 30 November 2026. You can get to know the program here.

The 8th Tallinn Architecture Biennale is co-curated by Kertu Johanna Jõeste, Siim Tanel Tõnisson, Ra Martin Puhkan (stuudio TÄNA), Mark Aleksander Fischer & Mira Samonig, whose proposal won the curatorial competition.

Tallinn Architecture Biennale (TAB) is an international architecture and urban planning festival with a diverse programme that promotes architectural culture. TAB encourages synergy between Estonian and foreign architects as well as between architects and the general public by way of creating contacts and exchanging ideas.
