Oulu–Venice: partner announcement

Organised on the Venetian Night, celebrated in Finland since 1840 on the last Saturday of August as the end-of-the-summer feast, the event will reveal how academics from Oulu will be involved next year in the world’s most prestigious architecture event, the Venice Architecture Biennale.
The announcement event is organised in Aaltosiilo, an Alvar and Aino Aalto-designed former silo of the Toppila sellulose factory, now transformed into a cultural venue.
Following the announcement, architects and researchers Henrika Pihlajaniemi and Jenni Hakovirta will join Finland Pavilion curator Kaisa Karvinen for a panel discussion.
