Open position at Aalto University for the Professor of Housing Architecture – apply by 31 Oct

The Department of Architecture is looking for a Professor of Housing Architecture. The call is open for all levels of the Aalto University tenure track system. The position will begin on the 1 August 2021 or as agreed. The professorship is full-time and, depending on the positioning on the tenure track, with either a fixed-term or permanent contract. Application closes on 31 October 2020 (Finnish time UTC +2).

The professor leads the housing architecture teaching and research in the Department of Architecture. In addition, the professor is responsible for directing and instructing the lecturer and other teaching staff in the field of the professorship. The focus of the professorship is on creating new visions, knowledge as well as developing tools and methods for housing architecture. Holistic understanding and knowledge of housing design, societal impacts, sustainability, history of residential architecture as well as current questions linked to housing and construction, are important aspects of the position. The professor of housing architecture is active in collaboration between the housing industry and organisations in the field.
